What The Heck is an "Open" Marriage?

A Poet, who I'm cool with, said that he's in an open relationship on Face Book. Actress/Comedienne MO ' NIQUE stated in an interview, that she and her husband, have an Open Marriage. What the heck does that mean?

When I was single, I acted single! I dated different Women. A few, became "Real" relationships but the only time, we were "Open", was before we established, that we wanted to have a more defined committed relationship.

Can you BE married and BEhave as if you are single? The answer is NO! If you are married there is a certain selfishness, a certain jealousy, a possessiveness, that comes along with it. It's Required! It's a Rule!

We hate Rules Mista Jaycee!

I know! That's why, I love y'all so much! But darn it! If we gon have this here relationship, we gon have to have some rules! Set some boundaries!

Open Relationship! WTH!!!!!

I bet you the idea of an "Open Relationship" was invented by the same company that invented "Casual Sex" and "Casual Friday"!

(Laughter)

There ain't no "Casual" about it!

For instance, lets say, I come over to my female buddies place, grab a beer, and watch a liberated copy of the "Book of Eli". Then I casually comment that she has nice D/S Lips! She doesn't get offended, cause we buddies right?

Then, I casually, start to kiss her lips, we have sex, and after we've finished, we, casually go about our lives, cause we just buddies right? We don't hang out the next few days, then see each other in the market. I'm with another girl! I'm shaved, bathed and well BEhaved. I introduced you as my buddy. You not mad! Right?

There's no Commitment, no Agreement we've made. There's no dishonor right?

It's alright! I've never shaved for you! I've never dressed up for you! I've never BEhaved with you, like I'm BEhaving now! We're buddies! We've seen each other nekked! We've shared essence! But hey! Buddies right? "Casual"! Change one detail. Now, we seeing one another. You stop by my place to bring me a plate, but it's an "Open" relationship, so it's cool that another girl's leaving my place right?

It's "Open!"

We just buddies! Just Friends! This was all very "Casual" right? You wake up, and put on all your buddies t-shirts and make breakfast, after y'all had sex right?

Y'all starting to get the point? Course y'all are! Some of y'all are bristling right now cause y'all in that kind of relationship right now!

There ain't no OPEN relationship! There ain't no OPEN Marriage! There is no "CASUAL" Sex! That's some bullshyt that they sold you!

Think on it! God (IAM) tells us in the 10 Commandments that God (IAM) is a Jealous God! In the 2nd Testament (New Testament) The Church is likened to a Woman and a Bride and Yeshua (Jesus) is called the Bridegroom. It's a Marriage! It's a bond! A serious thang.

What I think they mean when they say "Open" is that they are not "Committed"! Now, the reasons may vary. Maybe she's rich but old. He goes to all the parties and looks pretty for her. He goes out and gets him a Young Woman as long as he's discreet. They may even care for each other, but the Marriage is not made of the right stuff. Maybe He's Gay but wants a Family. He's good to her and the kids. They Love and care for each other as much as the other is able.

Now on the other side.

Maybe one is just afraid. Fear will have you accept alot of things. It keeps a Woman who's had three children by the same Man from demanding that they make it legal and honest.

Fear will make a Man accept being the Boyfriend in everything but name! People fear permenance! They fear Commitment! It means that you are accountable! It means that you have to BE responsible!

It means that you miss out on the Good Stuff! Marriage is beautiful when it's done right! It's beautiful and although you may glance at someone else occasionally you won't miss being single. Not when it done right. Marriage ain't for Punks though. That's why you got to get a license!

Now as far as a relationship goes. Being "THE" Girlfriend or Boyfriend is the ish! It beats being the sidepiece, wifey, Eff Buddie, jump off, MILF, and HLF (Homie Lover Friend) any day of the week. It means that they are yours! All yours! You don't have to share and you won't BE shared! It means your exclusive!

If the person you married to ain't grown enough to BE married all the way to you..then maybe y'all need to each find someone who is. If the person you are dating is not committed to you fully. Then, keep dating and you will find someone who is.

Don't Settle for BEing "Open" Don't let someone toss you away "Casually" Dig?

Kamasi Washington - 'Change of the Guard'

A couple of days ago in Staten Island, New York a Large Black Man was placed in a chokehold by seven Police Officers and choked until he was dead.  He was not resisting arrest.  There is no evidence he even cursed at the officer.

When I first began to write this blog I wrote a post about the nature of police brutality.  When I did that I wrote of what I observed.  The Long Beach Police Department of Long Beach, CA has a practice of having the detained lean against the hood of their police car.  I observed a young, shirtless, Afrikan American Male directed to lay of the hood of the vehicle chest down.  It was in the high 90's and the hood was hot!

The Officers checked the young man's id via radio while he laid across the hood.  I stated that I believed this was torture.  Why not allow the young Man to sit on the curb? He was not in handcuffs. There were two officers, both young, both with hand weapons.

I got attacked as being anti police.  I am not anti police.  I am ANTI Brutality!

Here is the problem as I see it.  An Officer has awesome power but when that Officer is not responsible the stakes are just too high.  Often we end up DEAD! There is no do over for DEAD!
There is no do over for false imprisonment.

It's time that Police and Law Enforcement agencies pay the ultimate penalty when they transgress.  Maximum jail time.  25 years to Life or more. Loss of Fortune etc.

It's time for the cities to step up too. Better job training. More cultural sensitivity.  Penalties that are enacted long before these incidents occur.

Allen Stone - "The Bed I Made" Taylor Sessions

No one ever said I'd get rich by writing. They never even said that I would be successful.  I write because it is what I am. When I am not writing I am dreaming and preparing to write.  When a short story is finished, I email it to friends, sometimes family and once in a while I'll hear it was good. I liked it.

That's it?  It was good? I liked it?

No one reads all the drafts, the half started ideas, the rejection letters except you.  They mention your passion as a hobby or ask how's your "lil" writing thang going?

But you write.  Sometimes they think they are helping you by suggesting that maybe you take a class, or maybe the character would be better received if he was younger.

And you write.  Why? It's what you do.  It is what I am.

Remember what you are.  A saxophonist is gonna play a lot of off notes, and play a lot of shit that people are not gonna to want to hear but if he does not play he will never be a master.

So do your thing.

If you think this is what racism is supposed to look like then you are truly naive. 

A teenager was shot in the back of the head by an Asian merchant in Watts, CA.  Her name was Latasha Harland.  She had gone in the store just before school to get some orange juice.  She was followed around by the store clerks, harassed and finally decided she would take no more and would leave the store.  The merchant, a Woman tried to search Latasha Harland's back pack.  Latasha refused and was walking out of the store.  The Woman shot her in the back of head.  Later when she was brought to court she was not sentenced to life in prison for cold blooded murder but to probation.

That was the early 1990's.  A White Hispanic Man named George Zimmerman, a self styled neighborhood watchman followed an unarmed teenager through a gated community. Zimmerman called the police, was told to cease following the teenager but persisted and shoots the teen killing him saying he feared for his life.  The teen, Travon Martin, age 17, had a can of Arizona Ice tea and a package of skittles candy.  Zimmerman was brought to trail and acquitted. Martin, deceased was painted to be a thug kid.  

Jordan Davis was shot and killed sitting in a truck after Michael Dunn an older White Man emptied a hand weapon into the vehicle wounding several teenagers and killing Davis.  He was convicted of attempted murder but not murder.  

So what do these incidents tell us?  It tells Black People that there lives are not worth anything in the eyes of the American judicial system.  Don't believe me. Go back to Rodney King. He was beaten by several police officers, it was filmed by a White Man and still the officers were acquitted. They were caught on tape.  

So in spite of evidence.  In spite of eye witnesses. In spite of the whole world watching all these people were abused, mistreated and killed. Afterwards their characters were defamed and slandered. Why? Because of their clothing? Because of their music? Because of their regional style of walk, talk and attitude.  Because they were Black! 

If you think that the racist power structure is not alive and well or that racism looks like the above photo then I feel bad for you because you are blind.

I recieved an email supposedly from Google informing me that I some unspecified item has been posted on my blog and some unidentified party has stated to them supposedly that I have infringed on their copyrighted or trademarked item. 

Hummm! It would help GOOGLE if you informed a BLOGGER such as myself, what supposed item has been infringed upon.  What post? What date? What Blog? Did I use a quote? Did I use a photo? What?

Copyrights and Trademarks protect everyone if they are used correctly.  If you feel that I have used a photo of yours or a piece of copyrighted material improperly I apologize, then I want to know what items you speak of and who you are so that I can take them down.  I am not about to scour or delete five years worth of pictures, 98.9 percent are public domain because they are posted from the internet and by the way the photos say courtesy of the World Wide Web. 

 These are my rights as a blogger who by the way owns a ton of copyrighted material, some of which appears in A Choice Of Weapons, Mista Jaycee's Stretchin Outtttt and Odie Hawkins Unlimited. 

I can respect a corporate entities right to protect their property but I want to know what items they say belong to them and I will not take down one single item or post until I am properly informed of what specifically is the offending item.

Mista Jaycee Embraces Clowns!

My hatred of Clowns is well documented so it should come as no surprise what this post is about but just like our electoral process you have to read beyond the headline.

Mista Jaycee still detests their very existence!

But now the REAL point of this post. This week President Barack Obama lent his support to same sex marriage and the Right Wing and so called Right Wing issue supporters like the "Black Church" went nuts. Nuts! NUTS!

Why?

Has there been any legislation that makes same sex unions legal in all 50 states by a federal proposal?  Nope! It's all State laws that get challenged and no one State law is uniformed or recognized in all the other states in the Union.  So the proposal is purely symbolic.

If you read Machiavelli's "The Prince"  you understand what just happened.  President Obama gave a Symbolic gesture to the gay community during an election season and this lobby has an interest again in seeing him reelected although they have yet to see anything that would indicate that they will be better off in four years compared to now. Genius!

Is anyone talking about the economy?  The banks?  Student loans?  Higher Student loan interest?  Foreclosures?  Predator Loans?  Wall Street? Nope!

Do you hear any real criticism of the PRESIDENT on those issues?  Nope! President Obama is a Genius!

GENIUS!

Darth Plagueis! Novel Review

Star Wars Nerd Alert!!!!
Spoiler Alert!!!

If you have not read Darth Plaguius by James Luceno then you gonna find out about it here cause I read it! I read it and now I'm gonna tell allllllll about it!

Before Emperor Palpintine/Darth Sideous ascended to the throne of the Galactic Empire he apprenticed under Darth Plagueis the Munn, a master of Midiclorian Manipulation.  It is said in Star Wars lore that Plagueis could create life and may have been the force daddy of one Anakin Skywalker who goes on to be YOU KNOW WHO!

I read this great long short story called "I Palpintine" by Christian Defeo which I highly recommend, it can be found in PDF form online. But I digress!

The novel starts with Plagueis apprenticing under Darth Tenebous the Bith who believes that Plagueis is destined to bring about the near completion of Darth Bane's vision for the destruction of the Republic and the Jedi Order. 

While Plagueis is apart of the 85 % of the story it's NOT about Plagueis but about Palpentine.  It mentions all of Plagueis experiments in trying to achieve immortality blah blah blah but nothing really about Plagueis or what really made him turn to the dark side, what really made him a great Sith Lord before he chose his eventual successor.  Nothing! The novel spends alot of time on Palpentine and his rise to power. 

I mentioned the "I Palpintine" story because it does what Plaguius should have done and been.  It starts with Palpentine as a young artist with a very ambitious, cunning, intelligent politician of a Father who guides his son to politics, it shows his falling in love, his joy, his passion, and the betrayal that ruins his family, his career, and his love that leads to embrace the dark side of the force and eventually rise to be Darth Sideous.  I suggest you find it online and read IT! Not Darth Plagueis unless you get it from the library for free. Don't waste your money! You are being Conned!

"The Help" Mississippi God Damn!

The 2012 Oscars have been awarded. Viola Davis didn't win Best Actress for her role in Kathern Stockert's "The Help"  but Octavia Spencer did. I love both Sistahs and I hope that they both have long, successful careers but personally I couldn't care less about "The Help".

I ignored it when it was in the theater and only saw it after much pressure from my Wife to rent it because it was up for an Oscar. The help is about a White Woman who writes the stories of 1960's era Jackson, Mississippi Domestic maids and their lives behind the scenes. 

One segment of the film sums up why this movie gets the finger.  The Octavia Spencer character after having been verbally abused by her young White employer and fired, seemingly grovels back to her with a baked pie in tow.  After the shrewish employer eats two slices she is informed that she literally has eaten a pie filling made of the Maids shit! Later in the movie the shrewish employer is bullied in silence, and some compliance because she doesn't want her embarrassment revealed. 

This is 1960's era MISSISSIPPI! In real life if that maid had even implied that she had done anything remotely close to that, that WOMAN would have shot her where she stood and had her body burned.  That's not hyperbole, that's fact! The Book and Movie fail cause it ignores what really happened in that time.  God Damn Mississippi was the most hellish of all the segregated South!  A Black PERSON COULD BE KILLED FOR NOTHING! No reason at all.  There was no Sassin in MISSISSIPPI! 

It's an insult to our ancestors memories and all our folks who are still alive that suffered in it! But that's the trick of White Supremacy.  Over time they try to rewrite history! It minimizes what has happened to where the oppressed victim and their decendants say oh it wasn't that bad. 

No! NO! GOD DAMN MISSISSIPPI! For all the innocents who were hung, burned, raped, humiliated, beaten, framed, jailed, drowned, castrated, poisoned, sterilized, burned and ran out of Mississippi and the South for nothing more than being Afrikan, Colored, Negro, Black, Afro American, African American. 

GOD DAMN MISSISSIPPI!

And to all the Monsters Ball's, Training Day's and movies like "THE Help" and the White so called Liberal film makers and writers who create these vile products and then award talented ACTORS the industry highest honor for bringing them to life while projects that would enrich, elevated and empower Afrikan Americans and America as a whole go ignored or remain unmade.  A BIG MIDDLE DIGIT!

Al Austin For 8th District!

When we the people elected President Obama in mass we voted for change! Now, the old order has fought tooth and nail to impede the change we the people desire.  There are some of us who after four years may be disappointed and disillusioned; Don't BE!

It's time for the Working Class, the Poor and The Middle class to start thinking about the Long Game! The change we want has to be implemented constantly and in stages.We will have to elect CHANGE Politicians for the next two decades in Local, Statewide and National Elections, appoint judges and like minded people to boards and committees.  President Obama has gotten alot done but he can't do it alone,  we as the thinking electorate that wants change have to begin to impart it by electing more new blood.

 Al Austin is that Man! 

He lives in Long Beach, represents North Long Beach very well, and wants your help in not just getting elected but in bringing businesses to North Long Beach, changing the culture of City Hall and the Council but most of all by changing the landscape of hopelessness that saturates the 8th District.  

562 magazine once did a wonderful five part expose on Long Beach quoting " If you enter Long Beach from the Vincent Thomas Bridge and come down Ocean Blvd it looks wonderful and you think Wow Long Beach is doing great! But if you come into Long Beach by any of the other seven avenues of entrance and look at Long Beach, it's WOW LONG BEACH REALLY SUCKS! Well, try entering Long Beach from the City of Carson on Delamo Blvd or Southbound from the City of Compton by way of Long Beach Blvd and see how you feel.  North Long Beach needs and deserves to prosper.

What Black Folks Want??? According to Santoram!

White Folks, let Mista Jaycee talk with you for a minute.  Come here, sit a while. Tryna help you! 

Republican Contender Rick Santoram stated that he wants to talk to Black Folks about something besides WELFARE! 

What the hell????

I know that Conservatives (White Folks) patron saint is  Ronald Reagan  (Effin Devil) and Ronald Reagan and all the Republicans that have followed him since like to tell y'all "good" Conservatives  that Black Folks want welfare and they always show a Big Fat Black Woman in a Ghetto somewhere waiting on her check.  

Here it is Conservatives, coming right from your Black Progressive Independent friend Mista Jaycee.  Black Folks don't give a F--K about welfare and we never did. Not one single, solitary F--K!  We wanted Good Jobs and a fair shake that is all we ever asked for.  

And by the way, stop demonizing the poor you F--ks! People that need welfare, regardless of color, don't want to suffer the humiliation of going down to the Welfare offices in America, answering those numerous embarrassing and intrusive questions about why they need assistance and food stamps but they endure it cause Nobody wants welfare but nobody should have to starve either in America! 

The majority of the American people that are on WELFARE and have always been on WELFARE are WHITE PEOPLE! It's time y'all deal with that! 

Mista Jaycee???!!! Stop hyperventilating! Get a brown bag and breathe.  White Folks are the MAJORITY in this country, so it is White folks who benefit the most from any  entitlements and special interests.  It is also WHITE FOLKS who shoot themselves in the foot by voting for folks like Ronald Reagan (Effin Devil) and his Republican ilk who don't want anyone to have any entitlements except them and their friends of which y'all really ain't included.  

So what do Black Folks want?? 

Well, I won't be so presumptuous as to speak for "Black People" there are alot of us ya know. 

But I'll give it a shot.

1.  Great Schools and Great Vocational training

2.   An End to Police Brutality and Fairness in the Criminal Justice System

3.  Employment opportunities that lead to the Middle class and beyond.  

4.  Equal and Affordable access to Healthcare 

5.  Equal and Affordable access to good housing

6. Grants and Loans that allow us to build business and employ our own people.

That's just a small part of what (Black Folks) want!   

Now, what I personally would like is for White Folks to really talk to these so called conservatives  and asked Conservatives like Santoram why there is no manufacturing industry in America? 

Point out to so called conservatives that when the Unions were strong in America that the poor and working class moved up into the middle class, buying homes, going to college and sending their children to college.  The GI Bill is an Entitlement that Americans White and Black have been able to use to move up in America.   

Ask Newt why he has voted against increasing Educational Grants throughout the years and force millions of young people trying to elevate themselves to take out high interest student loans that keep them indebted for decades after they have finished school?  Why not just invest in your people with grants as they will be paying taxes back into the system after school?  

Why have conservatives not dealt with the country failing infrastructure?  Roads, Highways, bridges and levees are all falling apart.  With all these Americans out of work, you'd think that conservatives would be thrilled to have a Government that would hire the unemployed to REBUILD America and pay taxes into the system.  

Ask so called conservatives why so much time has been spent on President Obama's birth certificate and not on all the homes that have been foreclosed on?  All the jobs that have moved overseas?  All the tax breaks that  have been given to the highest wage earners and not the working and middle classes? Why Corporations continue to enjoy tax breaks and subsidization while they put their income into off shore tax shelters?  Shouldn't conservatives demand that Corporations pay the American people back by creating good paying  jobs on shore?  

Just asking!

Whitney

Rest in Peace Whitney!

Whitney was the package! Stunning looks, height, weight, and that VOICE! She didn't just display vocal acrobatics but she knew how to caress a lyric.  One singer may have a wonderful voice but can't make the song live. And some have a marginal voice but interpret a lyric to no end.  Baby Face falls in the category.

But Whitney had it all! That is sooo rare and even with all of those gifts a singer may not make it to the top.  Trust, the music business is treacherous!

Gonna have to pull out my copy of her first album and listen to "You give good love" again.

Rest in Peace and thanks for the music.
