A Choice of Weapons 100th Post!

Well alright! Number 100!
Barack Obama made history becoming the 1st African American nominee to a major US political party. It was a good speech! Bam Bam went after John Old Kane Mccain on some real issues. Hey Bam Bam! More substance is needed though in plain terms bro. More meat and I know you got it for us!

Now John Old Kane Mccain may be old, out of touch and still trying to work out of the 19th and 20th century playbooks but hey even an old lion can be dangerous and Old Kane made a great play with his vice presidential pick. Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska is a real interesting pick!

Palin, a whistle blower shined the light on Republican backroom deals that presented conflict of interests and lapses in ethics. She is a Republican but she has standards that she doesn't violate for sake of party unity. She's the killer of the bridge to nowhere, a Mother, Basketball player, married to a champion snowboarder and BP Oil man, journalism major, political minor, once reduced her own salary as mayor and cut property taxes by 60%, Pro-life feminist and 44 years old. She definitely walks it like she talks it. Her own son born with Down syndrome, she doesn't believe in abortion.
Cool, his veep is alot less flawed than Old Kane himself. Mccain, I will give ya credit, you picked a candidate that your own party would not have had the guts or intelligence to pick! You flew against conventional wisdom and didn't choose Romney or Lieberman, the safe choices! That took sack! Your ideas may be bad, discredited, outmoded and outdated but Whoo hoo dude ya made this race fun!
Joe Biden versus Sarah Palin, this is gonna be good!

Barack Bam Bam Obama versus John Old Kane Mccain!

Oh yeah, all we need is a Texas cage and we in business baby!
BE Mindful! BE Careful! BE Prayerful!

Jaycee,
With a few exceptions, I must give you "big props" on this post. It was fair and for the most part reasonable. I knew you had it in ya.

Jaycee let’s face it this was not a great pick. Too me it just high lighted his age. McCain talks incessantly about experience, and then goes and selects a woman he hardly knows, who hardly knows foreign policy and who can hardly be seen as instantly ready for the presidency.

McCain knows better and I gave him more credit that he deserved. Many Republicans think this pick was brilliant , because it will be difficult for Democrats to run hard against a woman especially since Hillary Clinton cried sexism.

Will this push those disgruntled Hillary voters McCain’s way? I dont think it will.

I agree that it does highlight Old Kanes age but I think it's a very interesting pick. Here's why...
1. It's not about just Old Kane's campaign anymore than Bam Bam's (Obama) This was a pick that highlighted difference in the party. Not change but difference. Here you have a candidate that took the extreme stance of no abortion even to save the Mama or rape or incest. Extreme! But when confronted with the possibility of bearing a disabled child which she did he has Down syndrome, she did unless some of her party collegues who take that same stance but as the First President Bush falter when asked what if it was YOOOORUR daughter? Then it's the choice of the Mother. What? She's educated, she's young! She speaks to the soccer Mama. I don't think they will win but two things I believe are at the core of America.
America has yet to face it's racist past or present and most of the women who might have voted for Hillary will consider Mccain rather than vote Obama.
I do not believe that either party has recognized the power of the soccer Mom lobby. Example why do these huge vehicles stay popular dispite bad mileage and high fuel costs? The Soccer Mom says they feel safe! They like being high up even though the center of gravity of the vehicle allows the truck to be easily flipped.
Just think about it!

First off, congratulations on your 100th post! They are always insightful...or irreverent. (LOL)

I've never heard of Ms. Palin, as haven't a majority of the American population at large. My thing is that she was picked as a counter measure of Mr. Obama being Black. Kind of like picking Princess Diana for Prince Charles...she fit the tiara. (LMBAO) McCain had to find someone who could hold his old ass up. (LMBAO)

Yes indeed, this should be an interesting election. Look forward to seeing PRESIDENT Obama in office come 2009. This country has had it's fill of the Republican party...I know I have!

Jaycee,
Haven't I told you already that there is no such instance where a baby needs to die to save the mother?

Soccer Moms like SUVs because they feel safe and ARE safe. My family has been driving them for decades. In snow, up and down mountains, dirt mountain logging trails, in the city, on winding back roads, and the interstates. Not one of us has ever rolled one, even the women in our family have no trouble operating them. We have also had family members hit by other cars and walked away from the accident because SUVs are harder to destroy or even damage.

Some of us put the safety of our family above the cost of fuel. That's why SUVs stay popular.
Just think about it!

But, Jaycee that pick also says alot about his thinking and, that is to "Hell" with the country.

Hey Roadhouse,
For the record SUV are safe but they are not the safest. The high center of gravity is at issue. I have personally taken emergency calls, where a toyota tercel took out a cadillac escalade for example when it ran into that vehicle on the side. The caddy flipped. This is just one example I have several more but more importantly so do the companies themselves. A 4x4 is a good thing if you live in the mountains or a wooded area or a desert. All which exist here in CA but if you live in Los Angeles, in the city you don't need a 4x4! It's not the safest for city driving, it doesn't get the best gas mileage and in fact may get worse gas mileage increasing the demand on the populace. Does it cause less polution No? Does it block or impair other drivers vision? Yes! They do. Should they be banned or restricted no but let's not get into discussions on what's already been proven ad nauseum.

Now, again, Abortion is not a real issue. If It go or stay it will not drastically affect anyone's life. It has only been legal since 1973. However unless you are on the frontline dealing with real human issues such as poverty, homelessness, drug rehab, education. You know Freedom, Justice and Equality and we can see that quantatively then it don't add up to a hill of beans.
Most church folks and so called conservatives rail against abortion and then hypocritically ignore several other things they should be on the frontlines about.

Jaycee,
Actually, aside from high speed road racing, SUVs are safe for pretty much all driving. If you could be given a choice of SUV or Toyota Tercel to be sitting in if you knew you were going to be broad-sided by another Toyota Tercel, you would be wise to choose the SUV. A rollover is not always the "death sentence" that the media makes it out to be. A "T-bone" crash is much more dangerous in almost every case.
Barring use of seatbelts of coarse.

I think being dead is usually considered a "drastic affect" on one's life.
And if your assertion about "ignoring several other things they should be on the front lines about" had any merit, conservative blogs would be writing about abortion only. Church's wouldn't have outreach programs, soup kitchens and missions.

You seem to be saying that churches can't walk and chew gum at the same time.
