Thank You for the Service to Your People, America and the World!
In the 1968 Summer Olympic games in Mexico City, Two College students, John Carlos and Tommie Smith raised their Black gloved fists and used their Black Socked feet to Salute Black People in America and across the world. As they ran we ran with them! The Olympic community shunned the statement but today we now know that they did a courageous service to America and the World. America felt that it's racial, political and economic injustices and apartheid should not be talked about in front of the World community. That somehow it should remain in house, safely behind closed doors. Freedom and Justice however obeys no such etiquette. Justice demands that it be shown Now! Freedom demands the same! Equality places itself at the service of all Humankind so ugly though it may have been for some Americans to see. It was Black, Red White and Blue! All Power to the People!
BE Careful! BE Mindful! BE Prayerful!

Yes, though I was just a child, I remember that day. It was a time when Blacks only gained recognition for being a great athlete, and not for our political views. Times certainly have changed since then, but I feel as though we as a people are beginning to get a little ambivolent; "expecting" great things without putting the effort out like our forefathers and foremothers. We need change...again.
